Binance's token delisting pace significantly accelerates in 2026 as fully diluted valuation and open interest ratios are compared.
Binance Delists 42 Spot Tokens and 28 U-Margined Perpetual Contracts in 2026 as Fully Diluted Valuation and Open Interest Flag Risk
BlockBeats reported on Sept. 27 that IOSG’s recent statistics show Binance had delisted 42 spot tokens and 28 U-margined perpetual contracts by Aug. 11, 2026. The spot-token total already exceeded the number removed in any full year since 2022, and the average interval between delisting batches fell to 28 days from 52 days in 2025, pointing to a faster removal cycle on the exchange.
Delisting pace accelerates
The statistics separate spot listings from perpetual contracts. For spot projects that were delisted, the median survival time rose from 4.1 years in 2022 to 5.1 years in 2026. That suggests some spot listings remain on the platform longer before being removed.
The picture for perpetual contracts is different. The median survival time fell from 1.3 years in 2022 to 0.8 years in 2026. Among contracts removed during 2026, 23 had launched in 2025, showing that newly listed contracts can also be cut quickly.
Valuation and open interest outrank trading volume
IOSG’s analysis said fully diluted valuation and open interest are better indicators of delisting risk than trading volume. In 2026, spot tokens with a fully diluted valuation below $10 million had a 49% delisting rate. Tokens with a fully diluted valuation above $100 million had no recorded delisting case.
The same pattern appeared in perpetual contracts. Those with open interest below $1 million had a 31% delisting rate, while contracts with open interest above $20 million had no recorded delisting case.
By comparison, trading volume showed a weaker connection to removal risk. Some contracts with relatively high daily average trading value were still delisted, indicating that short-term activity alone does not secure a listing’s future.
Launch channels do not guarantee continued listing
The data also showed that Binance’s own launch pathways did not provide long-term listing protection. Among perpetual contracts removed in 2026, 63% had come through Binance Alpha. Of the 42 spot tokens removed, 11 had previously been issued through Launchpool or Launchpad.
What the pattern signals
The overall picture suggests Binance’s delisting process is becoming faster and more selective. For readers, the practical takeaway is that a token’s survival on the platform may depend less on immediate trading activity than on structural measures such as fully diluted valuation and open interest. The figures also show that a project’s origin within Binance’s own launch channels does not automatically guarantee that it will remain listed.
