DYORSWAP Clarifies That the Do Your Own Research Contract Was Not Hacked and That It Has Already Distributed More Than 200 ETH.
DYORSWAP Says DYOR Contract Was Not Hacked and Has Paid More Than 200 ETH in Compensation
DYORSWAP said the recent incident did not involve an attack on the DYOR contract, but instead reflected the impact of a fraudulent network called GIWA Chain 9134, and the project has already paid more than 200 ETH in compensation from its own funds to affected users, according to a statement reported by PANews on September 28.
What the recovered data showed
The statement described the network as being launched by an operator controlling bridge infrastructure and said the operator ultimately drained the real ETH supporting the network. Recovered data showed that about 1335 addresses bridged funds, about 767.65 ETH entered the bridge, and about 766.25 ETH was ultimately drained.
DYOR activity on the chain
DYOR recorded 1479 operations on GIWA Chain 9134, of which 1148 were successful, according to the statement. Those operations involved 298 wallets and 104 pools. DYORSWAP said it used its own funds to pay more than 200 ETH in compensation to users affected by the incident.
What comes next
DYORSWAP said the team is continuing to trace the deployer, the funding source, the batch processing infrastructure, and the path of the drained funds, and is using on-chain evidence to distinguish affected cases. The episode highlights the risk that users can face when a project interacts with a fraudulent bridge network, even when the project’s own contract is not directly compromised.
