Strategy invested $76 million to buy 950 units of the Bitcoin , while also buying back $174 million in STRC.
Guided toursStrategy, the world's largest Bitcoin treasury company, has resumed its purchase of Bitcoin , after a two-week suspension, and continues to repurchase preferred shares from its owners. This move shows that its cryptocurrency strategy is still moving forward, while how funds are allocated is becoming more complex.
Resumption of holdings: 950 units purchased in a week BTC
According to Strategy's 8-K filing with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission on Monday, the company purchased 950 units of Bitcoin ( BTC ) for about $75.7 million from Monday through Sunday at an average purchase cost of $79,670 per unit.
Following the completion of this acquisition, Strategy's Bitcoin holdings totaled 846,000 units at a cumulative purchase cost of approximately $63.8 billion and an average cost including fees of about $75,416 per unit. Calculated at the time of publication as being priced at around $849.25 for Bitcoin , the company reportedly fails to realize revenues in excess of $805 million.
As the world's largest publicly traded Bitcoin treasury company, Strategy is currently struggling to find a balance between continuing to mint coins and managing an increasingly large preferred stock portfolio with billions of dollars in cash reserves.
According to Yahoo's financial data, Strategy stock was up 7.4% before the close of trading on Monday at $165.2. Strive also announced an increase in its holdings on Monday: The company bought 1,355 shares of BTC last week. Its total holding rose to 26,355, and its share price jumped 6.44% to $32.03 before closing.
Continued buyback: $174 million spent on STRC in one week
While resuming the buyback, Strategy continued to repurchase its perpetual preferred shares in STRC. In the same week, the company repurchased approximately 1.77 million shares for $174 million of working capital.
STRC's shares rose slightly by 0.35% to $98.85 on Monday.
The company disclosed that $875.1 million was still available under its preferred stock repurchase program, with $1 billion remaining in the MSTR Common Stock Repurchase Program. Additionally, Strategy did not sell any shares through the Market Price Increment (ATM) program between September 14 and 20, meaning no funds were raised via this channel during this phase.
Cash reserves decline: Both accounts shrink
Strategy's USD Cash balance decreased by nearly 20% to $1.05 billion from the previous week's reported $1.3 billion. The account has a wide range of uses, covering Bitcoin treasury operations such as purchases and capital management.
The other USD Reserve was reduced from $5.1 billion to $5.04 billion, with the decrease being used primarily for payment of preferred equity dividends and interest on outstanding debt in an amount of approximately $57.4 million.
From a cash flow perspective, Strategy is in the money-making phase: buying coins and repurchasing preferred shares and paying dividends with interest are synchronized. The double-double contraction of both types of cash accounts also reflects an increasing intensity of its capital mobilization.
