Loomis says Democrats' intense hatred of Trump overwhelms support for the $ cryptocurrency Clean Air Act
WASHINGTON (AP) - Senator Cynthia Loomis recently said she was frustrated, shocked and saddened by the Senate's failure to advance a key procedural vote on the cryptocurrency -seat market structure legislation last week.
Speaking at a policy and regulation event hosted by CoinDesk on Tuesday, Loomis blamed Democrats for the bill's stalled passage. She noted that it was an outcome of bipartisan negotiations between lawmakers, expanding from about 300 pages to more than 600 in response to Democratic demands including provisions such as increased bankruptcy protection.
The problem, in my view, is that the Democrats' disgust for President Trump outweighs their approval of good policies. They have chosen a strong antipathy to the president and given up an opportunity to pass important policy legislation before the midterm elections.
She emphasized that while the bill itself was a bipartisan effort, the final procedural vote failed to garner enough support and frustrated this time-consuming legislative process.
